XTR Carchip is a less known tuning company from Germany but their latest project, a modified Porsche Cayman S dubbed X-Wide, will surely make them popular. The Berlin-based tuners installed a new body kit to this 987 S that consists of a detachable CFRP front spoiler, new side skirts, wide fenders, an adjustable rear spoiler and carbon fiber exterior mirrors.
The XTR Carchip Porsche Cayman S X-Wide sits on a set of three-piece, central locking 18¨ wheels from BBS which are wrapped in high performance tires from Pirelli. The car’s performances were only slightly improved by installing a Super Sprint Magnum cat-back exhaust and by remapping the ECU to reach 310 HP and a top speed of 285 km/h. But guys from XTR Carchip are also working on a twin turbocharged version that will have around 850 HP under the hood and will be released during next spring.
The car’s interior also received a couple of modifications like a set of Recaro GT3 seats with six-point Schroth harnesses and a roll cage which increases this car’s safety for a couple of tests on the track.
